We are delighted to be able to plan to start to welcome guests back to the yurts from the 4th July 2020. However, the Government is only allowing accomdation businesses to re-open subject to certain conditions being met. We have been issued with protocols for new cleaning and safety requirements. These are to ensure your safety and that of our team which are part of Graywood Canas Cottages. It will mean that there are some changes that we need to make for the foreseeable future and we need your cooperation and understanding as part of those changes.
The changes we have made have been based on the guidance we have received from HM Government, Public Health England, NHS and Professional Association of Self Caterers.
Cleaning will be carried out by a professional cleaning firm with dedicated members of staff to our yurts.
Cleaning will take extra time - because of the COVID-19 risk it is now necessary for us to 'double clean' - our usual high standard clean followed by a deep clean and use of an ozone machine. PPE will need to be changed between yurts too. This means that extra time will be required for each changeover, so arrival and departure times will need to be changed to a 4:00pm arrival and a 9:30am departure. We understand it is inconvenient, but it is really important to us that your clean is done correctly and not rushed to ensure your safety. Should we find after having undertaken the cleans for a few weeks we can do this quicker then we will review the timings.
Please strip your beds before leaving. The Government is advising us that we have to assume someone in your party COULD be carrying the virus as 70% of people who had an antibody test did not have any symptoms. As the main way of contracting the virus is airborne and removing bedding can make the virus airborne we are asking for your assistance in stripping the beds and placing the linens in the large red bag provided. This will then be taken to our professional cleaning service.
Likewise please could you put your white bathroom towels in the yellow bags and the coloured hot tub towels in the green bags provided.
Please empty all the bins, including the bathroom and put them in the large rubbish bins outside the green services hut between Oak and Ash yurt.
Should you come into contact with another guests or a member of our team please respect social distancing at all times.
We have been advised to remove unnecessary items from the yurt to reduce the risk of touch contamination. This means that decorative cushions and throws, DVDs, games, maps and books have been removed. Please bring what you would like to have as entertainment with you. The quantity of kitchen equirment has also been reduced as we are required to wash every item between guests (even if it is clean).
We have also removed the paper information leaflets about the attractions and places around us. This, together with any supporting information about the yurts, has been combined and a new app has been created which you can download prior to arrival. This will also be available off-line so you can still research where you want to go if you don't have internet access.
Over the last few years the comments our lovely guests leave help make us love our business. Unfortunately we have had to remove the guest books so if you would like to leave a review on Google or Facebook that would be great.
We hope you have a lovely break with us but if you do develop symptoms the Government advice is to return to your primary residence, and self-isolate there for a period of 7 days (14 days for the other group members). Please do let us know if you develop symptoms before you leave, or on your way so we can adapt the cleaning protocols appropriately.
